We know all about tight deadlines. If your freight needs to be at Point B in short notice, our contracted machine tool shippers will haul your equipment via dedicated truck to get it there fast. These trucks carry only your items – no one else’s – so there are no stops for pick-up or drop-off of cargo between your Points A & B. With dedicated truckload service, you specify exactly when your machine tool is picked up and delivered, and we keep you updated as your freight moves.
Other services like full truckload and less than load (LTL) freight services allow the shipper to pick up and drop off other freight along the way, as long as it doesn’t interfere with their delivery schedule or exceed their trailers weight and size limits. This can make shipping large machine tools more affordable. In contrast, dedicated truck service carries only your cargo for guaranteed delivery time.

As a freight broker with established relationships with multiple motor carriers, we arrange the type of machine tool transport service that best meets your exact needs. If the machine tool you’re shipping doesn’t require the entire length or load limit of the trailer, Less Than Load (LTL) Freight Truckload service may be right for you.Less than Truck Load or LTL service entails other freight loaded onto the same trailer that your machine tool is on. This is the most common service for shipments that don’t require the weight or deck space of the entire truck and can be the most economical choice.
Unlike common carriers, your freight isn’t unloaded and loaded several times between shipping centers and warehouses and other trucks. There are no stops beside the pickup and delivery of the other freight sharing the deck space. This level of service is economical because you only pay for the amount of deck space and weight your machine tool needs, and you share the expense of shipping with others.

Machine Transport arranges for the shipping of machine tools across North America with our network of professional line haul shippers. These motor carriers differ from common carriers like UPS®, USPS® and FedEx® in a variety of ways. To help understand the difference, we’ll explain a few of the differences between line haul freight shipping and common carriers.

Line Haul Shipper
Line haul motor carriers are characterized by long distances and heavy or oversized freight. Line Haul shippers often use open trailers for oversized equipment. This is because they may be too tall or wide for a box trailer, or that rigging equipment is needed to move the machine tool off the trailer. These shippers rarely carry freight weighing less than a couple tons. Importantly, line haul shippers only load your cargo once at pickup and unload once at delivery. This not only expedites shipping time but also reduces the chance of your machine tool being damaged during loading or unloading.
